it's hard to believe it's sunday nite and another week has come to a close,  a while back i was in a bead swap and received some absolutely beautiful beads from some wonderful gals, i just loved this box set of beads and decided to use them in a necklace, i just love the pink and green combination i just had to share the beautiful box and little extras jody made they are sooooo lovely thank you thank you

a little bit of metal.....

this week in the shabby tea rooms challenge they are asking us to use just a bit of metal on our creations for an added bit of zippity doo dah!!!!.............hmmmm i got to thinking...... a while back i was working on a series of 50's prom dresses, i had made the hangers they hung on out of sterling silver wire, some are left shiney and some are covered in true 50's fashion with tulle... so i thought for this challenge how about i create a 3'd dress form with wire and tah dah this is what i came up with... hope you all like.................

hope you can see the dimensionality of the dress and the way the handmade form creates movement on the canvas, it's what i was trying to achieve, it's as if someone were swirling around the dance floor right now in this beautiful tulle laden dress enjoying life the the fullest.....

looking for shabby......

i have had a creative burst of energy today and have another design to share... i noticed on some recent blog hops that a lot of people are doing tag alongs what a wonderful idea.... i decided to try a tag tonite i love the result, since i am a constant reader i think i'll use this as a bookmark, just so i can look at something pretty while i read!!!!

on another note, if anyone knows of a place to buy vintage looking floral papers please leave me a note i'm looking for pinks and creams and would love to have some new paper shopping swares!!! i'm also looking for vintage kitchy ephemera any suggestions please let me know, i have exhausted a lot of my crafty secrets things and would love some new inspiration!! thank you all so much and i absolutely love all the wonderful comments they are so awe inspiring....

one more post......

this is a project i have been working on for some time... it is a photo keepsake album, it is 10 pages in length, the pages are all hand sewn, some of the flowers on the bottom are ribbon that i hand made.. i thought this paper was so pretty that i might also share this with theshabbytearoom this week it feels rosey and cottagy to me........
this is the cover of the album there is no sentiment as of yet as it is not in use.......
i'm thinking this may be a very romantic memory journal for someone....

this week in theshabbytearoom they have the most wonderful picture for inspiration i love the picture so much i added it to my sidebar........ from that picture came this card......
i hand rolled the beautiful pink flower i love the way it turned out... i have been wanting to try this for some time especially for my jewelry creations...but this card got my first one!!
i can just picture this flower on a necklace with lots of antique bling its really got my mind whirring with possibilities...........
i painted a maya road chip frame with white paint and covered with this beautiful cream colored trim i love it.... love it.....
and truly this card was made with love.......

I have been so so busy this week a few projects to share before they are shipped off the first project is a wedding collage i did for my niece i absolutely love the result and since it ties in with theshabbytearoomchallenge i thought i might share it there as well....

i love doing wedding collages that incorporate the invitations its such a wonderful way to keep everything permanent and displayable.........

now on to a few new card projects.... i just love these papers by october afternoon they have definitely swept me back to my childhood in the 60's with fond memories....i love the vintage images of mom's in aprons baking pies i can remember my mom baking pies...pies of every flavor imaginable! they were my dad's favorite desert....

ahhh if only life was like it was back then carefree and full of wonder......

i absolutely love these last color combinations they really make my heart sing.... i found the yellow and blue buttons at a garage sale i so wish there had been more the blue is so soft and beautiful..............................

lily...step aside!!!!!

My fourteen year old daughter and I went for a stroll downtown last week and ended up in our favorit, favorite store!! The Pink store as we fondly call it, its the lily pulitzer store, she saw so many beautiful dresses that we would love to have but at the handsome price of 350.00 and up I'm afraid all we could afford were the plastic tumblers!!(which i love by the way), so anyway we decided to stop by our local quilt shop(brand new for saratoga!!) and picked up 3 fatquarters each, 9 dollars worth of fabric each.

......and suffisive to say i whipped up the skirts of choice...

and if i don't sat so....I think my first one came out great,  this was soooo easy to make it has no zipper, with a ribbon embellied tied waist so easy zip zip and your done! the hem is a contrasting but similar fabric attatched where i wanted it!!!so i think lily would be pleased at this remake at a fraction to the cost.....

Just a quick post today......a lovely girlfriend of mine ordered 20 housewarming cards for her daughter and I thought I would share some with you....I really enjoyed this project and the papers.....
