I don't know about you, but I just love all the wrinkle distressed ribbon out there on cards and collage projects...... so I got to thinking, since I was paying a fortune for such a small amount, hmmmm.... I can make that so I put my mind to work and this is what I came up with.... I did try to search out how to's but did not find to much info so I went with what I knew from college and printmaking!!
I went to a c moore and purchased: Raspberry Ink Inkadinkadoo, Walnut antique ink tim holtz, and three little mister bottles that were located right next to the ink's!! I think I spent 15.00 on these supplies. Next, I went to my supply of hug and snug seam binding that i purchase from zipperstop on etsy it's 7.00 for a spool......
First i took a bunch of the cream ribbon(cameo beige) wadded it up on a piece of foil, misted it briefly with clear water, then misted it with the walnut ink, maybe 3 small sprays, hit with a little water again, then misted with the raspberry ink straight from the bottle maybe 3 times, flipping over the wad of ribbon to cover but not to cover completely, since i like the look of cream ribbon showing through!!!all the while rolling the wad inbetween mists in my hands to give lots or wrinkles!, when I felt it was done I set it aside and tried the next wad!, having fun just misting and trying to achieve varigated shades of pink, I did this by adding 1 squirt of raspberry ink to the small misting bottle and water to the top then shaking and finding a less concentrated shade of raspberry, which I tend to like better than the full strength of the ink..... when I was happy with my creations I borrowed my daughters hairdryer and dryed each wad, I think the heat sets the ink and the wrinkles making them more permanent. That was it easy and very inexpensive, I cannot wait to purchase some more colored inks and really building up my supply of wrinkle ribbon..... hope you give this a try it really gives your projects more of your own personal touch with whatever colors you create.......

You can also use pale shades of ribbon as your base, such as a pale pink, yellow, or green it doesn't have to be cream or white, the colors will mist into a beautiful tie died effect, you can even just antique your existing ribbon with the walnut ink, for a distressed look..... I hope this was helpful, I really like to share ideas, I think you should definitely give this a try the results are wonderful, it's fast, easy and very rewarding.......
